Accessibility:

There are no public car parks, but there is plenty of on-street parking with designated areas marked out along the road. Pavements throughout offer pedestrian islands in the middle of the roads and dropped kerbs at more dangerous points.

Brief Description:

Abergwili lies to the north east of the county town of Carmarthen. It is home to the Carmarthen Museum which is housed in the old Bishop's Palace, home to the Bishop of St David's since 1542, (the present palace is a modern building to its west, and is not open to the public). The original building is believed to date back to the late 13th century, but it was largely rebuilt in 1903 following a fire.

The village contains a bilingual primary school, Merlin's Hill Centre (a farm which has been opened to the public), an Ironage hillfort, the Wheaten Sheaf and Black Ox public houses, a chapel and a church.
