Brief description
https://programme.openhouse.org.uk/listings/12895
"Church dating back to at least early C12. Charles and Mary Lamb are buried in the churchyard. In 1136, the Lord of the Manor (Geoffrey de Mandeville) gave the church as an endowment to the Abbey which he founded at Walden in Essex. Surviving medieval features of the church include the chancel, the nave, the north aisle, the vestry and the tower. The eight bells in the tower weigh from 5 to 15 hundredweights. Five of them date back to the 1700s, one to 1866, and two to 1959."
