Accessibility

Roadside Parking is available. St Mary’s is set within the Church Yard on slightly raised ground approximately 100 metres from the road accessed along a gravel, then cobblestone gated pathway. There is a wooden bench seat by the church gate.

There is level access/egress to/from the Church Porch and stepped entrances/exit to/from the Vestry on the North side of the Church . There is  additional stepped access to areas within the church. There is no wheelchair access to the church clock tower/belfry. 

Brief description

St Mary’s is the Parish Church of Lillingstone Lovell; one of 5 Church of England churches in the North Buckingham Parish of the Diocese of Oxford . In a rural setting in the Aylesbury Vale,  5 miles north of Buckingham and near to the Northamptonshire border, St Mary’s is a  Grade 1 listed building and one of a number of listed buildings within Lillingstone Lovell. The village is a historic, conservation area (referred to as ‘Lillingestane’ in the Domesday Book). Parts of the church including the Tower date back to the  early 13th Century. St. Mary’s also contains fine pillared archways to the Nave, decorated windows, box pews and a number of very interesting artefacts and monuments within the church including 15th century brasses, a 16th century oak pulpit, 18th  and 19th century wall-mounted  marble monuments.

 No direct bus routes serve Lillingstone Lovell. (Nearest bus routes call at Buckingham (then 40 minutes’ walk to Lillingstone Lovell)
