Car parking is available on-street and in car parks along most of the length of the promenade. There are blue badge parking spaces, and disabled toilets, at intervals along Ayr Beach. Access to the beach from the promenade is mostly via ramps (there are also some sets of steps); sometimes the ramps are covered by sand.
Brief description
Ayr Beach is 3.5km in length, stretching from the mouth of the River Ayr (and Ayr Harbour), past the mouth of the River Doon (made famous by Robert Burns). It is a sandy beach, and the slope into the sea is gentle.
