Accessibility:

Parking is close to the site of the castle at the estuary's front, with designated disability spaces. The road in which it is situated is on a steep gradient and there is a short walk uphill to the castle. No toilets within. Brick pavement, which is narrow in places. There are six steps up into tower.

Local amenities include, Bryne's Bar and Shop. Ballyhack Harbour and ferry crossing.

Brief Description:

Ballyhack is a small village located in the south west of County Wexford on the eastern shore of the Waterford Harbour. Ballyhack castle is located just off the shore line on a steep slope over-looking the estuary. The castle, a large tower house is believed to have been built c. 1450 by the Knights Hospitallers of St John.
