"BALTIC is situated on the Quayside in Gateshead, a 10 minute walk from Gateshead Town Centre.

BALTIC is accessible for pedestrians from the Newcastle Quayside over the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

Travelling by Bicycle:

BALTIC is accessible by bike via South Shore Road and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. There are bike racks located on Baltic Square, near BALTIC's main entrance. The bike racks are maintained by Gateshead Council and free to use.

Parking:

Parking spaces are available in the BALTIC Car Park. Follow Signage for 'Gateshead Quays' and 'Other Car Parks' until specific signage for BALTIC Car Park becomes visible. Spaces are pay on exit and you can pay by card or cash.

BALTIC Car Park charges in 2021 are as follows:

Up to 1 hour £2.00

Up to 2 hours £3.50

Up to 3 hours £5.00

Thereafter £1.50/hour

Blue Badge holder's parking is free. For ticket validation during gallery hours (10.30-18.00), please go to the Welcome Desk on the Ground Floor of BALTIC. Outside of these times please contact Security via the intercom on exit.

Motorcycles can park free at all times in the designated motorcycle bay.

Coaches:

Coach drop off point is next to BALTIC on South Shore Road.

Coach parking is only available on request and may incur a fee.

"Travelling by Train or Metro:

Newcastle Central Station. 3 hours to London’s Kings Cross, 1.5 hours to Edinburgh.

Tyne and Wear Metro Service. Newcastle Central Station or Gateshead Metro Interchange.

Travelling by Bus:

Gateshead Bus Interchange or Newcastle Central Station. The bright Yellow Quaylink buses run every 10 minutes during the day, at least every 20 minutes during the evening and directly serve BALTIC. The Quaylink service 1 (Q1) starts from both Gateshead Interchange and Newcastle Central Station"

Baby Changing Facilities ("BALTIC has multiple baby changes. These are located in BALTIC’s Learning Lounge (Level 2), Event space (Level 1) and on the Ground Floor, where there is a singular baby change room as well as baby change facilities in both the female and male bathrooms. If you require nappies, wet wipes or any other assistance please ask at the Hello Desk, or speak to a member of BALTIC Crew who can assist with providing these for free.
