Open daily from 10am to 4pm. Last admission at 3pm. Museum may be closed some days, so please check this page to see if the museum is open before arranging a visit.

From the North and South – Follow the A1M to Junction 63 (Chester-le-Street exit), then the A693 towards Stanley for 4 miles, following the signs.
From the West – Take the A68 to Castleside, near Consett, and follow the Beamish Museum signs along the A692 and A693 via Stanley.

The nearest bus stop is directly outside the museum, serving the Coast & Country 8, 8A and 78A services as well as the Waggonway 28 and 28A services.
The nearest train station is in Chester-le-Street, 5 miles away from the museum. There is a bus station 0.5 miles away from the train station where the bus services listed above are accessible.
