Accessibility:

The onsite parking has six spaces designated for visitors with disabilities. The public areas of the Documentation Centre are wheelchair-accessible and wheelchairs are available to borrow (with a deposit). There are disability toilets in the Documentation Centre and lifts allow access to the upper floor level. Large print and braille literature is available and all of the audio-visual media has English and German subtitles. Service dogs are welcome in the Memorial.

Brief Description:

This site of remembrance is a monument in commemoration of the 70,000 prisoners of war who died at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp (1941-1945). As well as the monument there are the remains of the foundations of a few camp huts.

Opening Hours:

The Memorial’s cemetery and the grounds of the former camp can be accessed daily.

Documentation Centre (permanent exhibition):

October to March 10am-5pm

April to September 10am-6pm

Memorial library:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am - 4:30pm and by special arrangement.
