Accessibility:

On-street parking in Berriew is quite safe, with some quiet residential roads. Pavements are flat and have dropped-kerbs, where required, but they do not cover the whole village, so it is necessary to walk on the road at times. There are public toilets located next to the Lion Hotel in the village, but there are no disability facilities. There are also three blocks of toilets in nearby Welshpool, all of which have disability access - Church Street (Behind the Tourist Information Centre), Berriew Street (In the car park) and Town Hall (In the Lower Market Hall).

Brief Description:

Berriew has a history that goes back to Roman times and lies around 5 miles south-west of Welshpool, close to the Welsh/English Border and on the banks of the River Rhiw. It is home to an array of black-and-white cottages, St Beuno's early 19th century church, a narrow guage railway and a Grade I Listed garden that is open to the public.
