Brief description
"The barracks at Berwick-upon-Tweed, also known as Ravensdowne Barracks, are the largest and finest barracks built in England in the early 18th century.
The British government had them built between 1717 and 1721, as part of a programme of barrack-building in the north of England and in Scotland, following the fighting there during the Jacobite rising of 1715. The barracks were designed for a full regiment of infantry, whose initial purpose was to deter and stop any further uprisings in the North." https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/berwick-upon-tweed-barracks-and-main-guard/history/
