Accessibility:

Car parking is available on site. There is an accessible toilet available next to the visitor centre with free parking, 50 yards away. Induction loops and a braile guide are also available on request. Assistance dogs only in the garden. Braille guide and an Induction loop are available.

There are narrow gravel paths, over 400 steps and tunnels throughout the garden. Some visitors may require assistance from their companion. 

Brief Description:

 

Llandscaped Victorian gardens designed by James Bateman and owned by the National Trust, including a Chinese garden and Egyptian court. Assistance dogs only in the garden. Picnic area is adjacent to the car park. Tours are available and Groups our welcome - please contact venue before you visit.

Directions:

From the M6 motorway travelling north or south take the exit at junction 16 along the A500. At the next roundabout take the exit north onto ‘Newcastle Road’ towards ‘Scholar Green’ and continue north along ‘Congleton Road’. At ‘Scholar Green’ turn east into ‘Station Road’ and follow the road north through ‘Mow Cop’. Turn east at the junction into ‘Mow Lane’ and north at the next junction into ‘Congleton Road’. Turn east onto ‘Grange Road’ and the entrance to the gardens will be visible on the south side of the road.

On location is the Tea Room/restaurant selling a full menu of hot and cold meals, refreshments and snacks. The garden shop sells a variety of plants, second hand books and gifts.
