Brief Description:

Blackpool zoo was opened on the 6th July 1972. It's main aim, like most zoo's around the world is to conserve and maintain species of animals who's habitats are being destroyed in the wild. These animals would become extinct without such programmes. It is home to many endangered animals such as Gorilla's, Lion's, Tiger's, Orangutans, Elephant's and many more. You will also find an array of other Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians and Arthropods. There are daily talks, feeds, and displays as well as outdoor activities for all.
