Accessibility

There is a café with disability toilets looking out on the west side of the Gardens, on the eastern end of the ground floor of the Ulster Museum.  There are also disability toilets and baby-changing facilities, and a lift and automatic doors, at the eastern end of the Tropical Ravine redbrick glasshouse (which also has a defibrillator situated on its outside wall) facing the Ulster Museum. There are also public toilets in the Gardens which also have an accessible toilet. For more information please see http://www.belfastcity.gov.uk/tourism-venues/TropicalRavine/TRcontact.aspx#accessibilityTR Disabled motorists should contact the Gardens prior to their visit.

Brief description:

Situated immediately to the east of the Ulster Museum, the Gardens, Palm House and Tropical Ravine glasshouse date from Victorian times, with mature trees, a rose garden, an alpine garden, flower beds and sculptures.

Opening Times:

The Gardens are open daily from 7:30 AM, and closing times vary during the year, so please check the website. The Palm House is open daily 10 AM-4 PM as is the Tropical Ravine glasshouse, except that it is closed on Mondays except Bank Holiday Mondays.

Directions:

Situated to the South of Belfast city centre, and immediately south of the main Queens University building. There is no parking inside the venue, and parking on the surrounding streets is much in demand. Coaches can drop off and pick up along Stranmillis Road.   Ordnance Survey reference 337774

Transport:

Enter the park at Botanic Avenue, Stranmillis Embankment and University Road. Take any Metro no. 8 and get off at Queen's University. You can also take Metro no.7 and get off at College Park.
