Pedestrians are allowed to walk across the walkway at the top of the structure, which is accessed by 177 steps.
There is one disability parking bay directly behind the Visitor Centre.

FROM WEST
Leave the M4 at Junction 28 and take the A48 towards the City Centre.
Keep right at the first junction and remain on the A48 all the way following the signs for the Docks and Pillgwenlly.
At the traffic light controlled cross roads go straight across and keep in the right hand lane to access the Newport Transporter Bridge which is immediately on the right hand side just after the traffic lights.
To access the car park for the Visitor Centre carry on past the entrance to the Bridge on the A48 and follow the brown signage for the car park for the Visitor Centre.
At the roundabout turn left on to Mill Parade. Remain on this road all the way to the end and a mini-roundabout..
The car park entrance is directly in front of you.
Access to the Visitor centre is to cross the dual carriage way by the traffic lights.

TO ACCESS BRIDGE FROM EAST
Leave A48 at the Corporation Road junction by taking the left fork sign posted to Liswerry.
At the T junction turn left onto Corporation Road.
Continue on this road until turning on right, signposted for the Transporter Bridge, which is Stephenson Road.
The access to the Ferry is at the end of this road.
