Accessibility:

Cathedral - There is wheelchair/pushchair access through the main porch doors to the Nave and Cloister area of the cathedral.  There are push button automatic doors at the entrance and exit area.  Ramp access is available in other areas of the cathedral.   The Chapter House and the Coffee Shop are accessed via the Cloister area.

Hearing Loop facilities, Braille and large print documents are available.  Assistance dogs are permitted in all areas and dog toilet facilities are also available.

Toilets: There are Disability/Baby changing facilities located in the Cloister next to the cafe.

Photography is permitted, except during services and events.


Brief description:

Bristol Cathedral is a Grade I listed building, built in 1140 during the Norman period. A Church of England cathedral and in the Diocese of Bristol it was originally founded as St. Augustine's Abbey.  Following the Dissolution of Monasteries in 1542 it became the city's cathedral and the seat of the Bishop of Bristol.

Directions:

Bristol is served by the M4 and M5. From Junction 19 join the M32 and follow the Brown Visitor Signs for the cathedral.  Millennium Square is the nearest car park.

Saturday & Sunday: 8.00 - 3.15 pm
