All areas of our cinema are accessible to customers with limited mobility including wheelchair users. Broadway 2 and 3 are located on the ground floor. Broadway 1 (including the Theatre) and Broadway 4 are on the first floor, and a lift is available to this floor from the main foyer. In Broadway 1, there are stairs leading up into the auditorium. There is a wheelchair lift on these stairs.

Each of our auditoria has designated spaces for wheelchairs and their carers. Two wheelchair spaces are available in 1, 2 and 3, and one space is available in 4. You can view these spaces on our seating plans. 

You can now book a wheelchair space online, simply select the seats that show the wheelchair icon. Please note that the seats either side of the wheelchair spaces are reserved for carers and companions. If you book a companion space without needing to accompany someone in a wheelchair then you may be asked to move to another seat.

Please let a member of staff know if you need any assistance or have any questions. We always want you to have the best and most comfortable experience.

We welcome guide or hearing dogs in all our auditoria. If you tell us in advance, we’ll make sure an aisle seat is reserved and a bowl of water is available.

Brief description

"More recently Broadway Cinema featured as one of the pubs in the film The World’s End, starring Simon Pegg, which Director Edgar Wright filmed around Letchworth, giving audiences the thrill of seeing the their home town on the big screen.

Building on the success of Broadway Cinema, the Heritage Foundation decided to bring together all of Letchworth’s arts venues under the Broadway name. In February 2016, Letchworth Arts Centre became Broadway Studio & Gallery, exhibiting arts, craft and design by internationally acclaimed artists alongside local and emerging talent.

Over the summer and autumn of 2016, the Cinema underwent a major refurbishment, re-opening as Broadway Cinema & Theatre. The venue now has a professional stage, backstage area and dressing rooms, making it a true 2-in-1 arts venue that programmes live theatre alongside films and event cinema."

Opening Times

We are open Wednesday - Sunday each week.

Our doors open 15 minutes prior to the start of the first film of the day and we close 15 minutes after the last film of the day has commenced.

Our staff are usually in the office from 3pm-10pm Wednesday to Friday and 10am-10pm Saturday to Sunday.

By Train: 

Letchworth Garden City railway station is approximately five minutes’ walk away, with journey times from London King’s Cross of 40 minutes.

By Bus:

The nearest bus stop to Broadway Cinema is Stop F on Gernon Road. Visit www.intalink.org.uk for timetable details. The services 55, 97, 97A and 99 all stop there regularly.

The Garden Square multi-storey car park (Rowland Way SG6 3JF) is open until 7.00pm (vehicles cannot be accessed once the car park is closed).

There is free parking (only at weekends) at the Spirella Building (Bridge Rd, Letchworth Garden City SG6 4ET). The Spirella Building is approximately a 10 minute walk from Broadway Cinema & Theatre.

The Euro Car Park next to The Wynd (just off Openshaw Way) is approximately an 8 minute walk from Broadway Cinema & Theatre. There is a pay and display parking machine and parking is can be accessed 24/7.

There’s plenty of on-street car parking available nearby too.
