This former toll house is located on the A476 in Llannon, Carmarthenshire. There is a bus service which passes the property. The former toll house is now privately owned and therefore not open to the public.  


Brief Description:


Originally built in the 19th century by the Three Commotts Turnpike Trust, this former toll house is now a privately owned residential property. Along with many other tollgates is South West Wales it was originally built as a means of generating public revenue for the upkeep of the roads. Tollgates were famously the target of the historical protest movement in the mid 1800s, now known as the Rebecca Riots. Located approximately 7 miles North of Llanelli. Leave Llanelli on the A476 heading towards Cross Hands. Once in the village of Llannon the toll house can be seen on the left where the road meets with the B4306.
