Brief Description:
The original Capel Mair Welsh Independent Chapel was built in 1820, but it was rebuilt twice - once in 1827 and again in 1862 in a familiar gable fronted, two storey style. The current building was designed by Rev. Thomas Thomas of Landore, Swansea and is Grade II listed. There is a plaque above the main double door in the gable end that reads 'Capel Mair 1862'
The double-aisled interior includes a three-sided gallery supported by cast iron columns.
