Accessibility

There is a large car park with 6 mobility spaces. Toilets with disability access are close by. The rope bridge is a 1km walk along the coastal path from the car park. Only the 1st 0.5 km is wheelchair accessible. The bridge is not suitable for wheelchairs or those with impaired mobility. A wheelchair access telescope is available.


Brief description

The National Trust owned Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge links the mainland and the tiny island of Carrickarede. It is 20m long and is 30m above the rocks below. It was first erected in 1755 by local salmon fishermen. Those not wishing to cross the bridge can enjoy the spectacular scenery form the coastal path.
