There is car parking at the marina and along the access road from the bridge but apart from The Dock bar there are no public facilities. Access to James Fort and the beach is by means of narrow tracks which are not suitable for wheelchairs or for those with a physical impairment.
Brief description
Castlepark is a peninsula almost completely surrounded by water with the Atlantic ocean to the south, Bandon river on the north and Kinsale harbour to the east.On the peninsula are the remains of James Fort built in the 17th century to guard the harbour, the ruins of Ringrone Castle and church. None are maintained. There is a sandy beach on the Atlantic side.
