Brief description

"The centre's database holds more than half a million records of baptisms, marriages, burials, census records, pre- and post-Famine land records, and numerous other sources. The earliest church records date from 1702, however, starting dates of church records vary for each parish denomination.

The centre was established in 1987 to build a database of all sources of a genealogical nature that are known to exist for County Cavan and to provide a professional, reliable, and confidential service for those wishing to learn more about their family background in County Cavan."
