Accessibility

Both gardens are set on a hillside with steps, and seats to enjoy the view. There is a level rear patio area with a display of mints at Moelfryn Garden for less mobile visitors. Cefn Amlwg has a single, standard-sized Toilet (NOT a Disability Toilet), and parking is available for one vehicle at the entrance to its small driveway.

Brief description

Cefn Amlwg: "The garden provides a mix of neat and tidy manicured lawn and ornamental beds with colour planted to attract bees and butterflies. A large fish pond, raised vegetable beds, fruit cage and seating areas. A summerhouse allows you to sit and soak in the delights, the lawn leads your eyes to explore the beautifully laid out garden, cleverly designed structures add interest."

Moelfryn Gardens: "Organic, environmentally friendly and recycling concerns have moulded our garden of a herb labyrinth, asparagus patch, cottage garden borders, vegetable beds, polytunnel, brassica tunnel, fruit cage, a small orchard and small wildflower meadow area, shrubs, small wooded/wild patch, free ranging hens, hedgehog house, bug hotels, small pond, compost bins and water butts. Sitting areas and views."

Essentially these 2 small neighbouring and contrasting gardens jointly open by appointment with a single admission charge, under the National Gardens Scheme charity. Both have been created by their owners, and in the case of Moelfryn Garden during the Covid pandemic Lockdown, and there is a photograph album showing the creation and attractions of the garden. Cefn Amlwg has a laminated information sheet for visitors to use as they go around the garden.
