"The house is reached via a gravel courtyard. There is one step at the entrance and a ramp is available if required. All areas of the ground floor are open to visitors and there is some static seating and portable fold-out chairs to carry with you are available upon request.

There is a narrow spiral staircase to reach the first floor of the house. If you find this is difficult to manage, the house staff can provide alternative access via the external portico steps.

Strollers and pushchairs must be stored at the house entrance and cannot be permitted into the property.

Unfortunately, owing to the constraints of the building, there is no lift access to the first floor of Chiswick House.

Wheelchairs are available to loan during your visit.

Complimentary entrance for carers is welcomed throughout the house and gardens.

An accessible bathroom is at the top of a shallow ramp.

The public car park for the house and gardens is situated just off the westbound A4 and is clearly marked by a brown tourist board entrance sign. The car park has space for 60 cars including three spaces for Blue Badge holders, approximately a five minute walk to the house.

If you require disabled parking closer to the house, please call 020 3141 3352 to book a parking place within the gardens. Spaces are limited and reservation is required.

Assistance animals are welcome, and drinking water is available for them at the café.

Large print versions of resources are available throughout the house.

There is a short introductory video with audio available on the ground floor. The video does not have its own subtitles, but a printed copy of the audio is available to borrow.

Assistance animals are welcome, and drinking water is available for them in the café.

Background music/audio can be heard in some parts of the ground floor, emanating from the video room by the front door. There is no music/audio on the first floor of the house.

The quietest time to visit Chiswick House is on a Monday or Wednesday. The busiest time is the weekend, especially Sunday.

We are keen for anxious or nervous people to feel welcome at all of our events. We are happy for you to arrive early and it is possible to talk to us and plan your visit in advance. Please contact us with any questions or to agree specific arrangements for your visit."
