Brief description
This Anglican (Church of Ireland) church is named after Tighernach mac Coirpri (anglicised as Tiernagh McKerry, (d. 549) an early Irish saint - the patron saint of Clones (Co. Monaghan) in the province of Ulster. It is situated in the village of Irvinestown in Co. Fermanagh - the village was founded in 1618 during the Plantation of Ulster (when English king James I flooded Ireland with English and Scottish settlers) by Sir Gerald Lowther and named Lowtherstown. Ownership later passed to the Irvines of Dumfries and the name changed accordingly.
