Brief description:

St Thomas a Becket Church is a Grade I listed building, built in the Norman style c.1200's and has been a site of worship for over a thousand years when a Saxon Church was built in the 7th Century. The foundations for this early church were discovered during alterations in 1976 and some stones were used to make the oak-topped table in the south transept. Other archaeological finds include a fragment of Saxon cross and a burial urn, both of which are on display in the church. In 1996 St. Andrew's Chapel was built on the south side of the church to provide an area for Sunday School activities and additional pastoral care.
