Built in 2004 it crosses the River Usk to the South of Newport City Centre and carries the A48 Southern Distributor Road.

TO ACCESS FROM WEST

Leave the M4 at Junction 28 and take the A48 towards the City Centre.

Keep right at the first junction and remain on the A48 all the way following the signs for the Docks and Pillgwenlly.

At the traffic light controlled cross roads beneath the Newport Transporter Bridge carry straight on on past the entrance to the Bridge.

At the roundabout turn right and remain on A48 following signs for the M4.

Carry on through next set of traffic lights and the road rises up to pass over the bridge.

TO ACCESS FROM THE EAST

Leave the M4 at Junction 24 and follow signs for the A48 Newport City Centre and Docks.

Continue on the dual carriageway around a number of roundabouts, but all the time remaining on the A48.

Eventually the road passes over the bridge.
