"Durban House in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, once housed the D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre, featuring exhibitions on the author's life and local mining history, but was permanently closed by Broxtowe Borough Council in 2016 to save costs, merging its displays with the nearby D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum. The building, significant as the place Lawrence collected his father's wages, later briefly became a spa before falling empty, remaining a key literary landmark in Eastwood's history, now focused on the Birthplace Museum.
