There are several entrances/exits to Colchester Castle Park, with wide, level easy access/egress at it's main entrance near to the Castle, off Colchester High Street. The Park has a network of wide, well-laid out pathways connecting its main attractions and amenities which include the following Accessible facilities:.
- Ladies and Gents Toilets and 'Radar' key-operated Disabled Toilets (situated near the Cafe).
- There is also an additional, accessible 'Changing Places' facility (near the Cafe) - please note before visiting this facility that this has digital code-access only for which application should be made to Colchester Borough council in advance- see Link.
- Additional accessible toilets are available in Hollytrees Museum in the Park (free admission) and for visitors to Colchester Castle (paid admission to the Castle).
Brief description
Colchester Castle Park is a popular local park in the grounds of historic Colchester Castle. The park is divided into the Lower Park and the Upper Park areas. The Park includes lovely gardens including a Rose Garden; a boating lake; fish pond. a Victorian bandstand; a large children's play area; mini golf; a cafe; picnic areas and nature trails. Colchester Castle Park also includes the Hollytrees' Museum (Colchester's Social History Museum) which is set within a picturesque Georgian mansion.
The Park regularly hosts events including festivals, shows and concerts. Colchester Castle Park has received a number of awards including a 'Green Flag Award'.
Admission to the Park and to 'Hollytrees' Museum is free.
Please note that there is a charge for admission to Colchester Castle itself within the Park.

By Car: There are Disabled Parking spaces for badge holders near to the Park on Museum Street and on High Street. In addition, there are a number of public car parks near to Colchester Castle Park:
- Nunn's Road , off Colchester High Street (pay and display): NCP Multi-storey car park (642 spaces including 15 disabled parking spaces)
- Priory Street (pay and display): Multi-storey car park (169 spaces including 7 disabled parking spaces).
- Osborne Street. (pay and display) : NCP Multi-storey car park (601 spaces including 6 disabled parking spaces)
The main pedestrian entrance to the park is off Colchester High Street (eastern end).
By Train: Nearest Railway Station - Colchester Town Station. Approximately 10 minutes' walk from the Park or a few minutes by bus or taxi. The Station has step-free access throughout, hearing loop, refreshment kiosk, ladies and gents toilets.
By Bus: Bus Service Numbers 62 (Brightlingsea - Colchester), 71(Chelmsford - Colchester) and 8 (Monkwick - Colchester - Highwoods) stop near Colchester Castle Park. Service Number 9 (Colchester Town Centre) also operates between Colchester Town Station and Colchester Castle Park.
