Accessibility:
There is a car park near to the cathedral with dedicated disability spaces and there are toilets close by with disability facilities. The cathedral entrance is via a number of steps, but there is a lift for those who require it. The interior of the cathedral is mostly disability friendly, but there are some parts (eg the crypt) that are inaccessible due to steps.
Brief Description:
Cologne Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the centre of Cologne, Germany. Its Gothic architecture dates back to the 13th century and the foundation stone was laid on 15 August 1248. The cathedral features the Medieval statue of St. Christopher, the shrine of the Three Kings, the crucifix of Bishop Gero, 10th century - the oldest known large crucifix – and five stained glass windows that were given by Ludwig I of Bavaria.
