Accessibility:
There are several car parks with access to the forest; details of the locations can be found here: http://www.crychanforest.org.uk/crychanforest/. As the terrain is comprised of forest tracks and trails it is not suitable for wheelchairs or people who are unable to walk far. There are no toilet facilities within the forest or at the car parks.
Brief Description:
The Forest is located at the gateway of the Cambrian mountains, on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are many miles of way-marked routes on forest roads, criss-crossed with old tracks and drover’s roads providing a safe environment for horse riding, cycling and walking.
The tree varieties include oak, ash, beech and hazel (from the original ancient forest) as well as imported conifers.

The entrance to the forest complex is on the A40 at the village of Halfway, which is on the road from Trecastle to Llandovery.
