Accessibility:

There is limited parking on site near to the children's' play area and an accessible toilet with a small ramp next to the car park's disability space for blue badge users for whom parking is free of charge. The car park is tarmac and level. If the overflow car park is used this tends to be grass so consideration should be given to wheelchair suitability. The paths around the park are largely tarmac or compacted gravel.  Both restaurants have wheelchair/disability access and the Stables stipulates that dogs are welcome.

The Splash Park Playground and Danson House are both wheelchair accessible.

The outer London Borough of Bexley is outside the Congestion Charging Zone, and the organisation Inspire http://www.inspirecommunitytrust.org/services/blue-badge-freedom-pass/blue-badge-scheme.html can supply further information and has a wheelchair service.

There is a Shopmobility service in the Borough based at The Mall Shopping Centre, Broadway, Bexleyheath DA6 7JN, telephone 020 8301 5237, and is open daily, except on Sundays, from 10 AM to 5 PM, and is close to the Asda Bexleyheath Superstore.

Brief Description:

Danson Park is a Grade II listed park around five miles south of the Thames. It contains the large, 200-year-old oak tree under which Lord Cornwallis presented the Charter which elevated Bexley from an Urban District Council to a Municipal Borough on 30 September 1937.

The park includes Danson House, the Old English Garden, Rock Garden and Peace Garden, fishing/boating lake, bowls, sports facilities, picnic area, children's' playground, cafes and restaurants.

The park is situated 5 miles south of the Thames and is bounded on three sides by the A207 to the north, Danson Road to the east and the main East Rochester Way to the south.
