Accessibility:
There is an on-site car park which also has one blue badge parking bay. There is ramped access into the church and it is wheelchair-accessible inside. There are toilets including a disability toilet which is wheelchair-accessible and features baby-changing facilities. There is a hearing induction loop system in place, and large print service books.
Brief Description:
St James’ Church was built in 1839, but there is evidence of a church on the site since the 14th Century. The new church consists of a chancel, organ chamber, nave and western tower. There are stained glass windows and also a war memorial dedicated to those who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars. The tower has six bells and there is also a clock in the tower. There is a church centre which is used for several different activities and groups.

From Leeds via A58. Head north east on A58 for 11.9 miles. Then follow the A661 north for 0.4 miles. Turn right onto Bank Street. Turn left onto Church Street.
From York via B12224. Follow B1224 westbound for 12.3 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto York Road and follow for 1.1 mile. Continue on B6164 for 0.8 miles. At th roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Market Place/A661. Turn right onto Bank Street. Turn left onto Church Street.
