Accessibility:

There are several car parks within half a mile of the church, the closest is at Bootham Row. There are steps up to the main entrance, however there is ramped access via the side door. Inside the church is fully wheelchair accessible. There is a stairlift available up to the Upper Room. There are public toilets including wheelchair-accessible facilities. A hearing induction loop system is in place.


Brief Description:

York Oratory/St Wilfrid’s Church was built 1862 – 1864, although there has been a church dedicated to St Wilfred in York since before the Norman Conquest of 1066. It is a Gothic Revival style church and was designed by George Goldie. Its tower is 147 feet high and contains 11 bells.
