Accessibility:

There is an on-site car park, and also two designated blue badge parking areas, outside the main hall (4 spaces) and the other is at the top of the main car park (6 spaces). There are wheelchair accessible pathways through the park, and to Wollaton Hall. There are lifts to all gallery floors and toilets. There are public toilets and also a changing places toilet with height adjustable changing bench available (users are requested to bring their own slings and register before use at the Industrial Museum reception). Brief Description:

Wollaton Hall was built in the 16th Century and was the home of the Willoughby Family until the 19th Century. In 1924 it was purchased by the City of Nottingham and then opened as a Natural History Museum two years later. The Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises was filmed here in 2011. Guided tours are available for a small fee.


In Wollaton Hall Park, themed walking tours are often available and there is also an orienteering map which can be downloaded from the website. Suggested walking route are also available. Deer roam freely throughout the park. Within the formal gardens is The Camelia House which is the oldest cast iron glasshouse in Europe.
