Accessibility:
There is free parking available on site. The park is mainly flat ground with pathways, however some of the surfaces may cause difficulties for people with mobility issues and wheelchairs, and some areas of the Nature Trail are not wheelchair accessible during bad weather. The Reception Building which houses the admissions desk, toilets, shop, coffee shop and café is wheelchair accessible, but access to the library is only via stairs. The Livestock Gallery has ramped access and is on one level. The Four Seasons building has stair and wheelchair lift access to the upper mezzanine. There are public toilets including wheelchair-accessible and baby-changing facilities.
Brief Description:
The Yorkshire Museum of Farming is situated in Murton Park. It was opened in 1982 and has a large collection of artefacts which show the history of farming mechanisation. There is also a permanent exhibition celebrating the Women’s Land Army which began during World War I when women took over the fields to grow food for the country. There is also a number of rare breeds of livestock on site. In the park is the last surviving stretch of the Derwent Valley Light Railway

From York via A1079. Take the A1079 from Lawrence Street and continue to follow for 1.6 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Hull Road/A1079. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Stamford Bridge Road/A166. Turn left onto Murton Lane and drive to your destination.
From Stamford Bridge via A166. Head south-west on Viking Road towards Viking Close. Turn left to stay on Viking Road. Turn left onto Stamford Bridge/A166 and continue to follow for 4.5 miles. Turn right onto Murton Lane and drive to your destination.
