Accessibility:
There is a car park at the gold mine with disability spaces, but there is a slope from the car park to the mines complex. Not all of the mines are suitable for wheelchairs as the ground is often uneven; however, there is the Short Tour, which has been specifically created with disabled visitors in mind. There are toilets at the mine with disability facilities.

Brief Description:
The Dolaucothi Gold Mines date back over two thousand years to Roman times and the mines were continually in use right up to 1938. Visiting the mines includes a glimpse into what mining the gold was like for the Romans, the Victorians and the 20th century. There are three different guided tours that you can take:
Roman Tour – An hour tour takes you back to Roman times where you can see marks left by Roman tools.
Victorian Tour – An hour tour where you can see the mine conditions that the Victorians worked under.
Short Tour- This half hour tour is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. This tour is available upon request.

Directions:
The mines are in Pumsaint just off the A482 from Llanwrda to Lampeter. Travelling from Llanwrda, after 7.5 miles turn right and follow the brown tourist signs saying, ‘Dolaucothi Gold Mines ¼ mile’.
