Accessibility:

The park and zoo has wheelchair accessible pathways, with wheelchairs available to hire for a fee. Reservations can be made prior to your visit by calling ahead on 0844 4721950. Assistance dogs are permitted at the theme park but not into the zoo itself. Access to rides varies depending on disability. Further information can be found on the parks website. There is an accessible toilet and changing room consisting of toilet, hand basin, shower, hydraulic bed and hoist.

Brief Description:

Drayton Manor zoo was opened in 1949 by George Bryan. It is set in 15 acres of land, inside a 250 acre family theme park. It has over 200 animals and 70 different species including Tigers, Monkeys, Lizards, Owls, Parrots, Spiders, and many more.

Directions:

Situated 2.5 miles from Tamworth. Head S on Mill Lane, at roundabout take 2nd exit onto Anker Drive. At next roundabout take 2nd exit onto River Drive/ A51. After 0.3 miles turn left onto Fazeley Road/ A4091. Continue along this road for approx 1.7 miles, turn right onto Drayton Manor Drive. This will lead you to the resort.

There is a direct link bus service travelling from Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Erdington, and Tamworth. The nearest train station is at Tamworth approx 3 miles from the resort. Easily accessed via car.

There are accessible toilets and baby changing throughout the park. Hot and cold food can be found at a variety of places within the resort including Burger kitchen, Safari pizza and pasta, café, fish and chips and more. There is also a number of retail outlets selling gifts and sweets. The resort has a hotel on site for anyone wishing to stay over, as well as a caravan and camping site in the grounds.
