Disability Parking by prior booking. The State Apartments,Terrace Cafe and Gardens are wheelchair accessible. The Chapel Royal is only accessible at ground floor level. There are universally accessible toilets in the State apartments.
Brief description
Originally as a fortress by the Vikings in 1204 the castle is now a major government complex and houses 2 museums,cafes and gardens which are open to the public. It plays host to state occasions and conferences including visits by foreign dignitaries.
