"The Carillon Tower is a monument built nearly 100 years ago. The Museum is located on a number of floors within the tower and access between the floors is via a spiral staircase.

"The Carillon tower is located in the middle of Queen's Park, which is near to the centre of Loughborough and within walking distance of local buses and buses from Leicester, Nottingham and Derby.

The train station is just over a mile (1.8 km) to the east of the town, and the M1 motorway is aproximately 3 miles (4.8 km) to the west.

There is a Pay and Display car park in Granby Street, adjacent to the park (postcode LE11 3DU). Other parking facilities are available in the town."

March 2021: "The Carillon Tower and War Memorial Museum are currently closed until further notice because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Tower and Museum are normally open from Good Friday until 30th September, 12 noon until 4.00pm, each Thursday to Sunday inclusive, as well as for organised tours outside these hours. Details of when it is possible to reopen will appear here as soon as they are available.

Entrance Fee:

The ground floor museum is free; adults pay £1.00 to access the upper floors, the bell chamber and the balcony. Children can access all areas free of charge but must be accompanied by an adult on the upper floors."

"Facilities at the Carillon and nearby

Queen's Park is a pleasant urban park with flower beds, grassy areas and water features with ducks and swans. There is also an under 12s play area, bowling green and an aviary.

On the edge of the park near to Granby Street is the Charnwood Museum which tells the history of Loughborough through a variety of exhibits and talks.

The Carillon has no catering facilities and no toilets of its own, but there is a café at the Charnwood Museum and there are many cafés and restaurants in the town centre. Toilet facilities are also available at the Charnwood Museum and there are public toilets in the park, including a free 'disabled' toilet for people with a Radar key."
