Car parking and arrival
There is one, clearly marked, parking space for Blue Badge holders in front of the Museum, a few steps from the entrance. Visitors can be dropped off at the main entrance. The roadway in front of the Museum is level tarmac. There are no steps up to the entrance. Roads in the vicinity of the Museum are paved.
Entrance, reception and gallery
The main entrance door is automatic and accessible by wheelchair users. The entrance and gallery are situated on the ground floor with step free level access throughout. The floor surface is non-slip vinyl, apart from the Research Room which is carpeted. The whole area is evenly and well-lit with overhead spot lighting. The reception desk is open plan with a lowered section. There are cushioned seats placed around the gallery.
Displays & Exhibits
There are interactive touch screens; that can be accessed form a sitting or standing position. The main text panels are in clear large text and can be read from a standing or sitting position. There is special text with an iguanodon icon on each panel for under 8's. Large print versions of the text and object labels are available. Stewards are on hand to assist with using the Computer and looking at books in the Research Room.
Public Toilet
There is a unisex accessible toilet with level access to the toilet from the gallery. There are vertical rails either side of the toilet and basin and there are is a horizontal rail on the side wall adjacent to the toilet. There is colour contrast with critical surfaces; floor, wall tiles and fixtures are different colours. The flooring is non-slip vinyl and there is florescent lighting. There is an emergency alarm pull cord. There are lever taps on the basins.

"East Grinstead Museum is just behind the town’s historic High Street on Old Market Yard, Cantelupe Road.
If you are traveling by bus, the nearest bus stops are in the High Street only a three minute walk from the Museum. Alight on the High Street and walk the short distance to Cantelupe Road – the Museum is on the right when coming from this direction.
If you are traveling by car there is limited on street parking available in Cantelupe Road. The nearest car park is opposite Chequer Mead Arts Centre. There is a charge for parking.
If you are traveling by train, East Grinstead train station is a ten-fifteen minute walk. If you are walking from the railway station:
- Come out of the Railway Station and cross at ‘Brooklands Road’ traffic lights. Turn left and walk on to Railway Approach (you will see Mid-Sussex Timber on your left).
- At the mini roundabout turn right into London Road.
- Continue up London Road and cross at the traffic lights to turn left onto King Street.
- Cross the road and, (still on King Street) almost immediately after turn right to go up Institute Walk.
- At the top of Institute Walk, turn right onto Cantelupe Road.
- Continue down Cantelupe Road and you will find the Museum on the left, set back from the road, opposite the Sportsman pub."
