Brief description

"Edlingham Castle is a ruined, grade I listed building in the small hamlet of Edlingham, close to Edlingham burn.

The castle was a fortified manor house used to guard the approach to Alnwick to its west during the wars of Scottish Independence in the 13th and 14th centuries.

The castle is mainly at ground level, aside from the central 'Solar Tower' which has several storeys and an iconic crack running from top to bottom."
