Brief description
https://cadw.gov.wales/open-doors-salem-chapel-nantyffyllon-maesteg
"Salem Chapel, on Picton Street, the main thoroughfare through Nantyffyllon, is the second chapel built by its congregation. Designed by Briton Ferry architect, Henry Morgan Thomas, upon its opening in 1873 it was one of the finest and largest chapels in Wales, with seating for over 1100 people. It was described as a most costly and magnificent edifice.
It has a light and airy interior, with sinuous cast iron gallery balustrading and an attractive painted ceiling.
The chapel is in the care of Addoldai Cymru, the Welsh Religious Buildings Trust, and the ground floor beneath the chapel houses the charity's office."
