There is ample car parking with disability spaces in the main car park.The gardens are wheelchair accessible as is the house with a lift to the 1st floor. The 2nd floor is accessed by stairs only. There are 2 disability toilets in the visitor centre.

Brief description

The castle is located in 260 acres of parkland which forms the Malahide Demesne Regional Park. Parts of the building date back to the 12th century. It houses period furniture and Irish portrait paintings. Guided tours  take place throughout the day and admission tickets include entry to the Gardens, Butterfly House and the Fairy Trail.

The castle is close to the village of Malahide 9 miles north of central Dublin. By car take the M1, R139 and R107. OS O 21987 245416

There is an Avoca cafe and shop in the castle grounds. There are lots of places to eat drink and stay in Malahide. The grounds are popular for picnics.
