Accessibility:

The car park is small and made from compacted gravel and grass. The paths to the two fort locations, although well-trodden, can be steep and slippery in places – the area is only recommended for the sure-footed and with walking boots.

Brief Description:

Garn Goch is one of the largest hillforts in Wales, with two camps erected in the Early Bronze Age - Y Gaer Fawr, and Y Gaer Fach (the big fort and the little fort). The forts total an area of over 12 hectares and date back over 2,500 years.

The area is common land, so is open to walkers. You can walk the public footpath around the site, see the scenery of the Towy Valley and imagine what life was like for the fort’s inhabitants.
