The hill top is only accessible on foot.
The footpaths are very steep in places.
There is a small hard standing on the mountain side of the Route des Alps road, near the top of the hill, that passes below the hill and connects Pentyrch and Gwaelod y garth.

From Gwaelod y garth
Leave A470 at Radyr turnoff and take B4262 over the River Taff.
After 100 yards take 3rd exit at roundabout signposted to Pentyrch.
Follow this road until you see playing fields on your right hand side.
Turn right immediately after the playing fields onto Main Road.
Follow this road up the hill passing the school on the right hand side.
On reaching the Gwaelod Inn turn left immediately before the Public House and follow the Route des Alps road up the hill.
TAKE CARE: THERE IS A DANGEROUS AND STEEP HAIRPIN BEND soon after the passing the Public House.
The hard standing parking area appears on the right hand side and there is a footpath just below this area to access the summit of the hill.
From Pentyrch
Leave A470 at Radyr turnoff and take B4262 over the River Taff.
After 100 yards take 3rd exit at roundabout signposted to Pentyrch.
Follow this road all the way up the hill to the village.
At the T junction just after the Lewis Arms Public House turn right.
After about 20 yards take the right hand turn, opposite the shops, onto Mountain Road and signposted to Efail Isaf.
Follow this road up the hill.
As the road bends to the left take the Right hand fork onto Route des Alps.
Follow this narrow road until you reach the hard standing parking area on the left hand side and there is a footpath just below this area to access the summit of the hill.
If you carry on this road TAKE CARE AS THERE IS A DANGEROUS AND STEEP HAIRPIN BEND just before you reach Gwaelod y garth.
