Brief description

"The George Marshall Medical Museum is situated in the Charles Hastings Education Centre, a Registered Charity and education and training facility for health care staff in Worcestershire. The museum is free to enter. The Charles Hastings Education Centre can be found on the site of the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Charles Hastings Way, Worcester, WR5 1DD.

The Museum exhibits Mr. George Marshall's fantastic collection of objects illustrating the way that medicine and healthcare have developed over the past 250 years. Visitors will see the gory collection of death masks of hanged criminals, the reconstructed apothecary shop and Victorian operating theatre."

When you are close to the hospital, please just follow Hospital signs off the main roads and then follow signs for the Charles Hastings Education Centre).

Visitors to the museum can access free parking onsite in the Charles Hastings Education Centre. Please note the car park is often very busy, so car sharing is advised. Please advise the Curator if a disabled parking bay is required, and we will try our best to reserve one for you. The centre can be found between junctions 6 and 7 of the M5 motorway."

"Bus services run between the city centre and the hospital site where we are based. Bus details change regularly so please check the County Council bus timetable website for current information.

The nearest stations are Worcester Foregate Street and Worcester Shrub Hill. It is possible to catch a bus to the hospital site from nearby either of these stations, and there is a taxi rank outside both."

Amenities

Please be aware, the Charles Hastings Education Centre is a hub of activity every day. As such, parking is on a first-come first-served basis, and it recommended that larger groups consider car-sharing. If full, there is alternative parking at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
