Accessibility

There are 3 steps to climb to get into the club itself, with a small handrail on each side. Parking is available in the car park directly across from the club. Staircase to reach the upstairs level. 

Brief description

Gilfach Goch Social Club holds both a lounge area and bar area inside. The bar area has a pool table, darts board and is where the local skittles team play matches. The lounge area has a musical artist to preform every Saturday night and also holds bingo nights throughout the month. Great atmosphere in the lounge with the opportunity to dance and chat whilst still enjoying the music. Events are also held in the hall upstairs. Anything from weddings to local business' Christmas parties can be booked here.

Directions

The club is located at the top end of Gilfach Goch in Evanstown. Follow Coronation Road then turn right onto Abercerdin Road, the club will be on the left hand side opposite a small playground. 

Gilfach Goch is located on the edge of the Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend County border. It is 3 miles outside of Tonyrefail via Gilfach Road and approximately 10 miles from Pontypridd via A4085 and A4233 or, approximately 19 miles from Cardiff via the M4 and A470.

Transport

There is a regular bus service to Gilfach Goch. 

The 150 arrives every 20 minutes. The bus stops directly outside the Social Club.

Amenities

Gilfach Goch is an ex-mining valley that has an abundance of outstanding natural beauty. There are multiple mountain walks that offer incredible views of the valley, along with flatter paths that follow the river and lead to the waterfalls. It has multiple playgrounds along with the Welfare Park where the local rugby team play. There is a community cafe and a local fish and chip shop, along with numerous public houses to enjoy a relaxing drink or two.
