Accessibility:

Parking: There are seven (7) Disability Parking spaces available - Please telephone to reserve a parking place.

There is no parking facilities for public use.  Nearest car park is Moor Lane car park - approximately 20 minute walk from venue.

Venue - There are good level access routes in the garden, some paths are stone/gravel and could be difficult for pushchair/wheelchair users.

Access to the house interior is by a ramp or two steps to the main doorway

Ground floor is accessible for wheelchair uses.  Upstairs rooms are accessed via a staircase.

Due to the age and structure of the building a lift is not available at this venue.

There are toilet facilities/baby changing facilities at the venue.  These facilities are large enough for wheelchair users but are not adapted to disability standards.

Assistance dogs are permitted and a water bowl is provided.


Brief description:

Goddards House and Garden was built in 1927 in the Arts and Crafts style and is a Grade I listed building, with the Carriage Building Grade II listed.  It was the family home of Noel and Kathleen Terry who were owners of the ‘Terry’s' chocolate manufacturers, based in York.  The house is now owned by the National Trust.

Directions:

Located  approximately 2 miles south York City centre,  on the A1036 (via Micklegate).

York is served by the A1(M) roadway.

Leeds lies approximately 25 miles south-west of York 


Opening Times:

Closed : Mondays and Tuesdays (Open Spring and Summer Bank Holiday Mondays)

Open: Wednesday to Sunday 10.30 - 17.30 pm


Admission charges:

Adult : £7.40, Child : £3.70, Family: £18.50, with free admission to Members of the National Trust and also the Trusts of other countries affiliated to it.
