Accessibility:

Disabled visitors over 16 years of age pay £2.70. One support worker, family member or friend will be admitted free of charge. All children under the age of 16 gain free admission.

There is a free car park next to the museum entrance with four designated disability bays for Blue Badge holders. There are also wide ramps and handrails to the main entrance. There is good disability access in the building, and an accessible toilet.


Brief Description:

Hadrian's Wall is a 73 mile long wall from Solway Firth to the River Tyne. Construction was ordered in 122AD to defend against Barbarian attack. It is now a World Heritage Site. Segedunum was originally a fort which housed over 600 soliders, it stood strong for almost 300 years. Today the site has an interactive museum and a 35 meter tall tower that can visitors can look out from and enjoy views of the wall and surrounding area.

Opening Hours:

Opening hours vary from season to season so please check online before you visit.

During the summer months the museum opens daily from 10am - 6pm.

During the winter months the museum is open Monday - Saturday 10am - 3pm and closed on Sundays.
