Accessibility:

There is disability parking available close to the barn. Throughout the site there are slip and trip hazards and the ground can be uneven in places.

Brief Description:

Dubbed as the ‘Cathedral of Middlesex’, by poet John Betjeman, the Great Barn is a Grade 1 listed building and one of the largest medieval barns listed in England. English Heritage have carried out a series of conservational works on the barn to preserve its historical and architectural interest.

Opening Hours:

May to September, 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, 10am – 5pm

October, 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, 11am – 4pm

November 2016 to March 2017 – Closed

April 2017 – Opening times available nearer time.

The barn is located on Harmondsworth village High Street. Harmondsworth village can be accessed from the M4 or Bath Road.

Amenities:

There are two pubs within the village, The Five Bells and The Crown, as well as a village stores.  Along nearby Bath Road there are a number of restaurants and eateries and more shops, cafes and restaurants available in Drayton Garden Village, just north of Harmondsworth.
